Our Track Record
Within the vast work of Grinaker-LTA’s stewardship as the managing framework contractor for the City of Cape Town, we have played a pivotal role as one of the implementational subcontractors under the JBCC Minor Works Agreement. Over a non-committal 3-year tenure, we have taken on and executed multiple Works Projects, as assigned at the sole discretion of Grinaker-LTA. These endeavours have been accurately administered in accordance with the contract’s stipulations.

MARTIN & EAST
PHILADELPHIA ENGEN SERVICE STATION ON RAMP:
In June 2022, Khwaza Engineering proudly accepted the role of constructing road structures, under the auspices of Martin and East (M&E), in Philadelphia along the N7. Our responsibilities spanned a range of construction tasks, from meticulous surveying and setting out, to the installation of kerbs, sewer and stormwater manholes, stormwater channels, electrical boxes, and conduits. Our commitment to quality shone through in brickwork and meticulously planned landscaping.
HAW & INGLIS
BELVANIE SEWER PUMP STATION
In May 2023, the City of Cape Town entrusted us with the completion of the Belvanie sewer pump station, part of the same framework Contract where Grinaker stood as the principal contractor, under H&I. Our role involved the condition assessment of existing structures, the proposal of pragmatic solutions, and the design and construction of select elements. We converted the MCC room into a guard house, raising wall heights, constructing a
reinforced concrete roof slap, and implementing precast concrete walling fortified with security features. Our involvement extended to layer works, facility surfacing with asphalt, construction of a new MCC room, management of electrical control panel relocation, and
exhaustive system testing and commissioning.
MACASSAR SEWER PUMP STATION
Mirroring the Summer Greens project, our role entailed a comprehensive condition assessment of existing structures, tailored solution recommendations, structural design,
and steadfast construction. This encompassed the creation of a cantilever-reinforced concrete slap working platform, the installation of steel handrails, and the integration of
precast concrete walling fortified with cutting-edge security features. As with other projects, we meticulously designed and executed layer works and surfacing, managed electrical panel relocation, and conducted rigorous testing and commissioning.
PAARDEN EILAND WATER PUMP STATION (PS)
Our scope encompassed a holistic assessment of existing structures, the formulation of innovative solutions, the design of these structures, and their diligent construction. We rejuvenated aged roofing, resurfaced facilities with hot mixed asphalt, introduced comprehensive kerbing and layer works, and undertook internal building transformations inclusive of brickwork, plastering, electrical upgrades, and concrete flooring. Additionally, our collaboration witnessed the overhaul of the City of Cape Town’s electrical department, necessitating trench cutting, a feat
accomplished through core drilling methods and cutting procedures.
GREY AVENUE
We embarked on a similar journey, inspecting existing structures, suggesting remedies, designing elements, and delivering results. This endeavour saw the installation of precast concrete walling fortified with security features like razor wire and barbed wire, in addition to an electronically controlled security gate. Facility
surfacing received meticulous attention, enhanced with mash-wired concrete, complete with kerbing and layer works.
SUMMER GREENS
Our commitment extended to an exhaustive examination of existing structures, the proposition of viable solutions, structural design, and resolute project completion. This involved the innovative design of a cantilever-reinforced concrete slap-working platform, the installation of steel handrails, and the incorporation of precast concrete walling boasting state-of-the-art security enhancements. Further, we managed the intricate relocation of electrical control panels, conducted rigorous testing, and
commissioned the site.
